Plaza de Espana

Plaza de España in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the city's main square.  It was built in 1929 and is home to a large, artificial lake.

There is a monument to the fallen of the Spanish Civil War at the centre of the square.  It is called the Monumento a los Caídos.
